Gary Laursen came by his love of building easily. His father,
Clifford, built houses in Bend back in the 1930's. Laursen
formed his company in 1965 and remembers building
average-priced homes for $10,000 and selling a high-end home
for $27,000. After obtaining further experience in Arizona and
Utah, he returned to Bend 20 years ago and has built in
practically every quality subdivision in the area.
Laursen has built in many of Bend's most renowned projects
including: Awbrey Glen, Awbrey Butte, River's Edge, Widgi Creek
and other fine developments. They are known for traditional
homes with porches, dormers, and fluted columns, which work
well with the architectural diversity that is offered at
NorthWest Crossing. According to Gary, "Our 'niche' in the
market is that we design and build to utilize every cubic foot
of area in the home, thereby offering a dramatic use of space
at a minimal cost." Gary is dedicated to making the building
process a "positive and fun part of life's most intriguing and
equity-building adventures."
